  2. San Francisco Chronicle article by journalist Joaquin Palomino, noted on May 21, 2020 noted that Asian Americans are dying of COVID19 at a higher rate than the general population. Of the 36 deaths in San Francisco, due to COVID19 in May, 18 were Asian American which is 50% of the deaths, despite the fact that Asian Americans only account for 1/3 of the city’s population. 6.6% of the confirmed Corona virus cases among Asian Americans have been fatal, versus 1.7% for the population at large, according to the Asian American Research Center on Health.
