Across the globe, there have been studies calculating the mortality rate of COVID-19. Research published by the Asian American Research Center on Health reveals that 52% of COVID-19 deaths in San Francisco were Asian Americans. This data was a preliminary study and has continued to access data as the virus continues to spread. Dr. Tung Nguyen, a professor at UCSF explains to NBC News that the release of this information is important, as the public, especially Asian Americans, need to gain knowledge as to the precautions they should be taking to prevent the increasing death rate.
